How do tokens work?

Tokens are used for editing operations. Standard edits cost 75 tokens, remakes cost 25 tokens, and 4K upscaling costs an additional 35 tokens. Upload and analysis are always free.  The need for remakes was considered with the current pricing system. We try to average 100 tokens needed per photo for those that may need several remakes vs ones that need none.,

I paid for tokens but they weren't given to me

Accepted Answer

Reach out to us through our support form or email support@picaid.app and after we investigate we can either refund you the money which can take 5-10 days or process the tokens to your account. We monitor our support tickets from 10:00AM-1:00AM EST and respond rather quickly 7 days a week.

Can I get a refund for tokens?

Accepted Answer

Token purchases are non-refundable. However, we may issue token credits for images that were not improved or experienced technical issues. If you believe an edit failed to enhance your image or was broken due to a technical problem, submit a request and our team will review it. We do not refund tokens for remakes done unless there is a very serious error on our end.

Can I upload drone captured photos?

Yes you can absolutely send us drone pics! We actually developed very specific training for our A.I. editor on how to handle drone photos differently. We even treat different elevations differently.

Question 5

How long does image editing take?

Accepted Answer

Most images are processed within 1-3 minutes. During peak times, it may take slightly longer. You'll receive an email notification when your images are ready.

Why did my edit not look as expected?

Accepted Answer

AI-generated results can vary. As much as we try to give you the result you'd like, it is still a roll of the dice to some degree when using A.I. Try using the Remake feature (25 tokens) to get a different variation. You can also adjust the tasks and settings before editing for more control over the output.

What image formats are supported?

Accepted Answer

We support JPG, JPEG, PNG, HEIC, HEIF, WEBP, GIF, BMP, and TIFF formats. iPhone HEIC photos are automatically corrected for orientation.

How do I use reference images for staging?

Accepted Answer

In Stage or Decorate mode, click 'Use reference image' and upload a photo showing the furniture style you want. The AI will use it as inspiration for your staging.

How do I delete my account?

Accepted Answer

Click on the menu at the top left of the website. Choose "Account" then select "Cancel Account". All of your information, uploaded images and edited content will be permanently removed from our website.

Why can't I continue after analyzing or processing is complete?

Accepted Answer

Try doing a hard refresh on your web browser or if you're using an app, close the app then re-open and go to 'My Sets' to continue working with your set. This can occur if you temporarily lose a connection to our server.

Why does processing take so long?

Accepted Answer

If there are too many using our service at the same time it can cause delays in processing. Unless the image tells you that it "Failed", we assure you it's either being processed or will be. We recommend you check back or use email notifications when your sets are finished.

Why do words or numbers on objects in the photo get messed up?

Accepted Answer

It can be a challenge for A.I. to replace words or numbers, especially if they're distant in the photo. The trick to fix it is to make a task telling the A.I. editor exactly what needs to be written and where. "The number on the house by the door is 119." or "The words on the sign say The Smiths".

The screen went black and said there was an internal server issue

Accepted Answer

Occasionally our server will restart for maintenance reasons. It doesn’t last longer than a couple minutes and if your process was interrupted it will continue automatically in the background. Your token cost for the set of photos not be affected.

It's taking over 2 minutes or longer for images to edit

Accepted Answer

During peak usages times the back-end A.I. service we use to support our framework can be very slow at processing images. Unfortunately this causes long waits.

I'm getting "Failed to edit" errors on almost every image

Accepted Answer

Occasionally the back-end service that we use for our A.I. processing can experience errors or downtime that may last a while. Unfortunately this is not in our control and all we can do ask that you try at a later time. You may receive update emails from us to let you know if this is happening.

I'm a Photographer is this app only for Realtors?

Accepted Answer

Photographers can certainly use our app. We have lots of photographers who use it as a time saving tool. Although we designed the app to be easy enough for realtors to use their own cellphones, the app works just as well with photos off of DSLR cameras.

I just signed up and I wasn't given any free tokens to try the app

Accepted Answer

We have many ways of detecting possible abuse of our "Free Trial" tokens. If you are a first time user one of our detection methods may have been too sensitive and triggered our fraud protection. You can email support@picaid.app and we will review your account and send you some tokens if we feel this was a mistake. We don't allow free tokens to be given if you are connected through a VPN, Proxy or any other cloud-based connection service.

Why was my account deleted or blocked?

Accepted Answer

After a certain amount of time passes we will remove accounts that have been dormant and have never purchased tokens. Your account may also have been removed if photos that are not deemed fit for our service were uploaded. We do not allow photos of people unless they were meant to be removed from a real estate photos.

We also may remove accounts that were suspected to be created by an already existing user to exploit our generous free tokens for signing up.

Can I upload photos with people in them?

Accepted Answer

We do allow Real Estate photos to be uploaded if they have people in them with the intent to remove the people in order to use the photo for Real Estate. If we fee a photo is not appropriate for real estate use, such as portraits of people or selfies, we will remove the photos immediately and may also remove the account.

I submitted a report for an image but haven't heard anything back

Accepted Answer

We don't answer or respond to every flagged image report. We do review every one of them to help us improve the A.I. editing process.  We do appreciate the feedback but we don't have the resources to respond to every report. It's important to know that using A.I. can produce un-predictable results and not every image is going to give you the outcome you'd like. If you aren't getting results after a couple remakes we suggest you try a different image.

Question 21

Why doesn't this app straighten my photos?

Accepted Answer

Straightening and perspective correction is something we're not quite able to do using the technology we have. To put it simple, it comes down to math and geometry which would complicate our system. The easier solution is to ask that you capture them straight or use your phone's built-in perspective correcting tool. This is usually found in your phone's photo app.

How do I stop the app from making the grass look too good?

Accepted Answer

There is a task that our A.I. editor uses called "Make the grass look nice". If you open the settings for any images with grass in them you can uncheck this task and it will be skipped. You can follow up with an additional task of your own like "Leave the grass as it is, we don't want to improve the look of any grass."

Does this app support multi-angle staging?

Accepted Answer

While technically we don't we do offer something close to it. Using "Stage" mode you can produce one virtually staged image. Then you can upload that image to the stage mode as a reference image. Our A.I. will use this as a style reference and produce very similar furniture and decor but we can't guarantee it will be in the same position as the original image showed it.

Why does the app do different things from different angles of the same room?

Each photo is treated separately from any others when the A.I. produces an edited image. We recommend you keep the number of photos of a single room to just one or two at most. Or you can use a task to describe what you saw in the first edited image and do a remake.

Why does the virtual staging keep rotating the room?

Accepted Answer

Sometimes our A.I. editor likes to turn the view to better position or fit furniture. Good virtual staging starts with the angle you capture the photo from. Try to show 3 walls of the room if you can capture wide enough of an angle. For bedrooms always show more of the longest wall in the room because that's where we will try to fit the bed. Try to provide wide-angle ( .5x ) captured photos to give our editor room to work with.

How do I add disclaimer watermarks to my photos?

Accepted Answer

From our main menu go to "Settings". Then look for the tab that says "Watermarks" or the icon of a stamper. From here you can choose and preview what the watermark will look like on an image. The watermark you choose is automatically going to be added to all of your images going forward until you come back to this section and choose "No Watermark". We offer several different messages that can be helpful with staying compliant with local listing services.

Can I get copies of my photos with and without watermark disclaimers?

Accepted Answer

Although we won't give you both versions at once automatically, you can process photos with no watermarks, then go to settings, choose a watermark, then go to "My Sets" and do a remake on any photos you want a watermark to appear on. When you choose to "Download All" both copies will be in the zip for you.

How long can I keep my images stored on your app?

Accepted Answer

We remove sets of images 30 days after they have been created. When you view your 'My Sets' section you will see an expiration date on each set. We strongly encourage you to download your photos as soon as you can to retain them longer.

Why is it calling a room something different than it is?

Accepted Answer

Although our AI is good at detecting what type of room it may be, there are times where there's not enough visual information to conclude and it may have to guess.

Does your app support different languages?

Accepted Answer

Although our app is provided in English, tasks you add to photos can be written in any language.

Can I upload brackets for HDR merging?

Accepted Answer

We are moving past the need for brackets with AI editing. You can use your brackets, but only use one dark exposure from each set of brackets. Don't worry about it looking too dark, the editing process will make it look like all 3 of your brackets were combined and even preserve the window views.

Can this app fix blurry photos?

Accepted Answer

Yes! Our AI editor actively looks for blurry photos and will automatically make sharply focused versions of them. If there is particular detail that you want to recover like words or items, add those descriptions as tasks and this will help guide the editor.

Question 33

How do I stop it from changing the type of driveway in the photo?

Accepted Answer

Sometimes the A.I. detection can confuse asphalt driveways with cement driveways or the other way around. The simple fix is to use a task to say "The driveway is an asphalt driveway" or "The driveway is a concrete driveway". You can also use the same method to correct it when it's changing the color of a driveway.

How do I keep it from making window views look like winter or fall?

Accepted Answer

The best way to fix this is to use season mode on any photos with window views. You don’t have to configure this mode as it defaults to summer. Just make sure not to add to all or it may create windows in photos that have no windows in order to satisfy the request.

Why does virtual staging keep putting objects in front of doors?

Accepted Answer

The most important step of virtual staging is capturing the photo or choosing which photos to use. Our AI editor is taught not to place objects in front of doors, however it's also taught to stage the room with a suite of furniture and decor. This creates confusion for the AI editor because if the photo shows a view pointing towards the room entrance and closet doors, it will have a hard time satisfying both requirements. The best angle you can use for staging is from the entrance of the room showing 3 walls with any doors being on the sides. Follow up with detailed tasks directing where you'd like the editor to place things or where not to place things.

One particular image keeps saying "Processing Error"

Accepted Answer

When you have one image that is giving you this error while others are not, it is likely that the A.I. editor is seeing content that it deems possibly prohibited from being regenerated. This could be a watermarked image, famous art, or it could simply be an inspirational message on a wall decoration. You can try adding a task that says to remove whatever it is you think it could be flagging. Or you may need to skip this image if you've tried several times with no success.

Am I able to make it so personal portraits are blurred or removed from photos?

Yes, this can easily be achieved by simply adding a task. Here are some tasks you might want to use:
Blur all personal portraits seen in the photo
Remove any personal photos and portraits from the photo
Replace any photos of people, portraits etc. with vague art

I'm trying to upload new photos but it's stuck at 0%

Accepted Answer

Assuming you've checked that your internet connection is good, it is likely that you simply are no longer logged into the app. Hit refresh on your browser or force close the app on a mobile device. Once you load the app again it should let you log in and continue uploading your photos. If the problem persists, send us a support email right away and we'll look into the issue. If the app server is down for maintenance you will see a warning message after opening the app.

Why does it change my ceiling fan to a different type or add a light when there isn't supposed to be one on it?

Accepted Answer

Sometimes our A.I. editor may be confused by something that appears to be a type of light attached to the ceiling fan during the Analyze phase. Before doing a remake add tasks like:
There is no light attached to the ceiling fans in this photo
The light on the ceiling fan has 4 arms with tulip shaped glass shades
The light on the ceiling fan in this photo has a large bowl shape

Question 40

Can I upload floorplans to PicAid to be modified?

Accepted Answer

We actually have a great feature meant specifically for floorplans. If you upload a floorplan of any kind, it will be automatically detected and treated very differently than standard photos.

All 2D floorplans are automatically converted to a 3D Blueprint image with added furniture, dollhouse style top down view with shading and blue gradients.

You can add custom tasks to add any further instructions but you are limited to keeping the same structure of the floorplan  as it only supports enhancing the look from 2D to 3D.

It is recommended that you use floorplan images that have room labels and measurements if possible.

I have a floorplan image that I'm trying to convert but it keeps timing out

Accepted Answer

You may need to remove any watermarks or disclaimers written on the image. Our A.I. editor sometimes gets fixated on some logos or disclaimer text and may be afraid it is a copyrighted image.

Question 42

Why does it cost so many tokens more to upscale to 4k resolution?

Accepted Answer

Upscaling to 4k uses A.I. resources that are heavily taxing on our resources. This increases the processing time to almost double which also makes our queuing process longer for other users.

If you'd like a better alternative try a third party software like Topaz Photo which can do bulk A.I. upscaling right on your computer. There is a monthly subscription fee to use their software but if you're editing a lot of photos it can save you money and time.

Question 43

Why did I get "Failed to process image" when uploading a photo from my iPhone?

Accepted Answer

This usually means the photo file was corrupted during transfer — most often when copying images from your iPhone to your computer over a cable or via AirDrop on a poor connection. The file looks intact from the outside but is missing data internally, so we can't open it.

What to try:

Re-export directly from your iPhone. Open the Photos app, find the photo, tap the Share button, and use AirDrop or email to send it fresh rather than copying from a previously transferred file.
Check your storage. If your iPhone was nearly full when the photo was taken, it may have saved an incomplete copy. Free up space and reshoot if possible.
Try a different format. In your iPhone Settings → Camera → Formats, switch from High Efficiency (HEIC) to Most Compatible (JPEG) and re-export the photo. JPEG transfers more reliably across devices.
Use a different transfer method. If you copied via USB cable, try iCloud Photos or AirDrop instead — or vice versa.
If the issue affects multiple photos from the same shoot, the original files on the device may be damaged and the photos may need to be retaken.

Question 44

Why do I have a remake for an image that I did not request a remake for?

Accepted Answer

Sometimes you may see multiple edits returned for an image, even though you did not click the "Remake" button. When this happens you are not charged any extra tokens for this additional copy. The additional copy is the result of the editing processing becoming interrupted for some reason on our end. We then force an additional copy to be made for no extra cost. Occasionally the original copy ends up completing anyways in which case you we just let you have both copies (or more). Rather than discard this extra copy we just let you have it. You will receive them both if you download the .zip file. Or you can click the purple badge to view the multiple copies. You can also remove them from the set here as well.

Question 45

How do I make a room appear larger?

Accepted Answer

Geometry limitations within our app’s capabilities cause issues with using tasks like “Make the room appear larger.”

The trick is to approach the problem differently by treating the image as a canvas. Use a task like: “ Enlarge the canvas of this 2d image so that more of this room is visible.”

You can also enable the “Remove All Constraints” toggle switch which you can find in the Advanced tab when you’re viewing the task list. This will remove some of the built-in instructions that force our app to maintain the exact structure of the room.

My images came back as empty space or blurry blobs

Accepted Answer

The A.I. processing engine we use may have temporarily broken. If you experience one or more of these anomalies use the "Flag Image" icon to report the image and mention in those comments if more than one image came back broken. You can also send us an email at support@picaid.app with some details.

We will certainly refund you the tokens for any images that came back broken due to any anomalies with our processing.

Question 47

Why does it show remakes for an image that I did not remake myself?

Accepted Answer

Sometimes if there was too long of a delay with the editing, our system will request another edit and you may have gotten more than one back if the initial edit comes back also. You will never be charged for these automated remakes. No tokens were deducted from your account for these.

We also sometimes monitor our edited results throughout the day for any opportunities to improve our app. If we feel the edited output your received did not meet our level of satisfaction, we may generate remakes for you at no cost to you.

If we are unable to get satisfactory results from remakes, this helps us identify scenarios that need correcting with our editing logic. We will never take tokens from your account when we make remakes for you.

If you ever feel like tokens were removed from your account for remakes you did not request please email use at support@picaid.app and we will happily refund those tokens for you after we investigate the issue.
